foil tape and flex watt

I got some of that expensive heat tape for my flexwatt on my rack today...wow! my questions is does it serve a purpose like transfering heat better or does it just stick to a hot substance better than...lets say duct tape? I hope its worth the $15 for what ever it does.

I use it because it seems to be more durable with the heat and bins sliding across it all the time. It is conductive though so be careful and make sure your heat tape is insulated properly.:main_yes:

I've been reading about building a rack but can't always picture it in my mind. Does the heat tape cover the flexwatt strip? I guess that would make sense to prevent the tub from rubbing on the flexwatt and wearing a hole in it and shorting.

I bought some 16 qt sterilite tubs at Target, but that is as far as I have progressed on my future rack...
