The one in the cage must be plain clacium. You will also need to dust the insects 1-2 times a week with calcium with vitamin D.

ok, just straight calcium powder? is it horrible if it has the D in it?

ill make the switch absolutely, just wondering if its a horrible detriment to have been using the calcium with D in it.

yes it depends but switch it out ASAP please, excess intake of vitamins is certainly nothing to take lightly.

Repashy Calcium Plus is a good supplement to use, you can use it every feeding.

Here's a link to it: http://www.amazon.com/Repashy-Calcium-Vitamin-Supplement-5-3oz/dp/B005BYH8KA[/QUOTE

NO, reptiles should never be supplemented daily. That is completely false information provided by the company who are making profit of the sale.

Is there information to back this up because I have heard from reputable people that it can be used every feeding? I'm not trying to start a debate or anything here I just would like to see some facts.

In some instances the Rephashy can be used daily. If you have a tendency to dust insects heavily, skip a couple times of dusting a week. Babies need daily calcium with their rapid growth rate. On the back of the package, it's stated that some species do not require daily dusting. Using this product eliminates the need to have an additional calcium dish in the enclosure. A lot of geckos don't eat daily, but still don't need dusting at each feeding. Geckos that go off food for a period of time will need a dish of plain calcium in their tank at all times even if you use Rephasy's, as well as gravid females. This will probably confuse folks more, but once you gain more experience, you'll better understand :)
