Can a young leo eat small hornworms? I don't have any right now, and probably won't order any until the weather heats up a little bit... but I order them for my beardie and thought IF a young leo can eat them... I'd get some small ones too....

Also... I've only had the little fella a few days, but he doesn't seem to realize where his food is, and runs away from the tiny crickets in the critter keeper... is that normal? :main_huh:

I've never used crickets yet for my guys so I'm not sure how they react. Although it is normal for them not to eat for a few days.

I used meal worms for my little one. You could try that, just pick up some at your local pet store. I'm not sure if they can have horn worms or not.

Good Luck!

I've got both tiny meal worms and small crickets... Kirin stares at the meal worms if I put them down in front of him, and seems scared of the crickets... I'm going to try again here soon... I figure if I keep offering food, one of these days, he'll eat!

I like hornworms because of their fat content... but different reptiles need different foods :) Anyone else? Can a leo eat hornworms?

My 2 leos are fairly young but both enjoy small hornworms on occasion(my local petstore sells them as Goliath worms sometimes).

They quickly loose interest in them for whatever reason though.

Dubia roaches are easily their favorite BY FAR.

I would try using a shallow dish with meal worms.they are small so your leo wont be scared.I posted on your other thread

I am thinking my dish isn't small enough... :/ He climbs through it, but I will have to find something more shallow for his worms til he's bigger....
