Food size rule.

I know the rule about how it has to be able to fit in between there eyes. In the case of crickets, does it mean length of the cricket or width. Because my gecko just ate a cricket that was a bit on the larger side and it seemed to have trouble getting it down. I wont risk it next time but, id still like to know. :)

Basically, as I've heard it, the cricket should be no longer(head to end) than the length of the gecko's head, and no wider than the space between the eyes. Most people I've met bend this 'rule' a bit.
