what do you think?

Isn't it illegal to bring foreign animals into the country without like a license and then 90 day quarantine at a animal shelter? Or something like that? lol

I personally wouldn't risk it. Especially when there are so many geckos in the states that would love a new home

I don't know about reptiles but with certain mammals all you need is a health certificate issued by a vet. I transported my dogs in and out of Germany with no problems but they wouldn't allow me to bring my parrot for some reason even though I bought her long before one of my dogs.

Wow, everyone is just way to honest lol.

This is so easy. Geckos usually go right to the area where your heart is. just let it go there and don't tell anyone. They probably aren't going to strip search you, the gecko will stay still, they won't even know. Heck, if they find out somehow just pretend you don't know how it got there.

Two true stories.

1. I once flew across country with a hampster in my pocket, and the stewardess came over to me all nice and asked why I kept putting corn flakes in my pocket. I showed her and she smiled and promised not to tell anyone.

2. A Girl in the pet store (not in uniform) came over to me when I was looking at the geckos and pulled her shirt out a little bit and asked me if I wanted to see what she had in there.

Typical guy.....try not to drool to much and said "sure". She reached in and took out a Giant Leopard Gecko. Apparently she was an employee who had just finished work. I bought that gecko too because she said she personally took care of it and she seemed very knowledgeable and caring.

I had a friend who was stationed in Germany, smuggle 2 of his BP's into Germany, in his underwear.

That had to feel odd.

All I have to say is wow...

Smuggling animals into the country isnt something to be proud about...IMHO

That's why there are so many foriegn diseases killing native animals (well, in the past...none that I know of currently) and so many species that are overrunning our native populations...this statement is true for other countries too.

a few parts of this thread were great for laughs ;)

As for importing a gecko, why dont you check to see if they sell them there first? Or have you already done this?

It is totally illegal to catch a french reptile.
You can't even move it from an area of 5 km.
If someone find you, bad things could arrive for you !

And there is no gecko in the whole France. Only at south.
