Frequency of breeding

I believe most out there like myself breed the male to their female once n await the arrival of the eggs. By doin so you should be able to expect on average 3 clutches or more ( up to 10 dependin on her age n other factors)

Do you guys actually encourage breedin her more than once, sometime after the first mating session -for more clutches of eggs. Would it strain her out tis way,the whole extended breedin and layin season.

I introduce twice and that's it for the season! Once copulation has occurred for the first time I give her a day or two than introduce again and that's it for the season. Last year I had virgin Tremper females and virgin Super-hypo females producing 7 to 8 clutches with breeding being done like this. Also hatch rate was 100%. I believe this has less stress on the females overall.

So Eric just to make sure i'm understanding you give it a double shot of love and then let the females do their thing for the remaining season? Also how long do your seasons normally last? (not looking for specific months just # of months)
