Friggin Heatsoucres UGH!!!!

Man So now lets see what Ive tried:
Zoo Med 30-40 Gal UTH (With and without Foil) 80.7 degrees
100 Watt Ceramic Heat Emitter 81.3 degrees max
T Rex Cobra 50-60 Gal heat pad (Not stickey and just lame!!) 78.1 degree Max
Zoo Med 30-40 Gal UTH with a 50 Watt red heat bulb 87.8 degrees max

Substrate is flagstone with Calci Sand for filler. The rocks touch the glass. Man so tonight I'm just going to get a 75 Watt bulb I think that should be enough. If not I'm getting the ceramic heat emitter again. The Zoo Med and the emitter get the hot side to like 116.3 max so add the ol rhetro-stat and I should be set but man what alot of juice for what to me seems like a relatively small space. 30x16x13. But hows every body else's day been? lol

Are you measuring the air temp or surface temp? You really shouldn't need anything else. I have a few feet of 4 inch heat tape if you want to try that and I could wire it up.......

I think hes measuring the air temp. A zoo med heat pad gets heated up to over 110 degrees if not controlled (believe me, i have 4 tanks that use them).
