Has anyone on here delt with this gecko before? I came across one the other day and I couldnt get over how awesome he/she looked. I had to be yanked way...as with most reptiles. Haha

I havent been able to find much information on them. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Thanks

I've been keeping Teratoscincus (microlepis anyway) for a few years now. I can tell you, if you're intending to handle them, this is not the species for you.

Do you know which species you were looking at?

Honestly no. I dont have a clue. My husband was trying to yank me out of the store. Haha. So I didnt get a chance to ask about any of the details. I'm sure I could find a picture of what it looked like. He/she was about 5 inches long. Pretty bland in color. He looked pretty close to this. Very squarish head. More so than this picture but it could be because I was slightly below him. Had a bulldog stance to him. Which is what caught my eye. Plus those huge eyes were awesome.

Not sure if these pics will help at all. But thats the closest I could find. Going off of memory.

Handling isnt a big issue for me. I'm content with observing. I really dont handle my LG that much. Weighing, checking for ovulation, moving them for cleaning is about all they get handled. With the exception of my giant. As soon as my arm goes in he's up on my shoulder till I'm done.

looks like scincus scincus or roborowski to me, at the moment we have groups of all the species, except bedragai, en breed most of them.
the should not be handled, if not neccesary. their scales can be very sensitive, and even let go.
it a very nice species to look at, but again, should not be handled to much.
most of the animals from this species, that you find in petshop, are wildcaught animals, even if the person of the shop tells you otherwise, there are only a few people, that breed them.
wildcaught specimens, need to be well looked after.
