okay, so i have the zoomed UTH for a 10-20 gallon.

i have a 10 gallon cage, and when i first got the UTH i didn't have a thermometer, and on the surface (i have repticarpet) it felt WAY too hot for me.

so, i put some paper towels down and it felt a lot better. just yesterday, i got a digital thermometer with a probe and layed the probe down on the warm side. it read about 76 degrees, so i took out all the papertowels under the carpet and now the temperature reads a perfect 90.1 degrees.

but it still feels WAY too hot to me? i'm afraid they will burn themselves?

and i don't have money for a thermostat or a dimmer right now...but if it read 90.1 it's okay, right?

because i read a lot about people's UTH's getting too hot but mine seems to be the perfect temp, even if it feels too hot.

90 is the correct temp it will be fine aslong as they cannot get direct contact with the UTH

maybe your just sensitive to heat

If it is 90 degrees though, it shouldn't feel too too hot, but it will feel warm. Maybe you could try a different thermometer to see if it reads the same thing?
