ok, i have 2 females housed together and in the past month added a male with them. only one of the females was laying eggs and i went to clean there humid hide out when i saw her and noticed she looked thin and i thought i had jsut mistaken her for for the other female. well i wasnt cautious when i was cleaning the hide out and accidentally squished on of the eggs. the other is fine but i thought the breeding season was over and wasnt expecting to see any eggs in the hide.

question 1-when do your gargoyles start and stop laying? or is it year round?

question 2-the male has only been in the same enclosure for under a just under a month. i hadnt noticed them breeding and their enclosure is in my room, and i hadnt heard any rustling around at night. can the egg be fertile even though the male was only in there for under a month?

question 3- can females retain sperm for the season with one or few actual matings?

thanks for your replies in advance!

They never stop breeding unless the temps are really cold.
I doubt they are fertile unless she was bred before then. It takes longer than a month on their first clutch.
Females can retain sperm.
