Hi i've had my garg for about 5-6 months now and it seems like it has hardly grown at all, from nose to tip of tail its not much more than 4 inches. I was told when i bought it that it was about 2 months old making it now just over 7 months. I was wondering if this is normal. I have been feeding it by hand for months and it does eat some but not much and it is pooing. If anyone can suggest anything i'd greatly appreciate it.

I'm not 100% sure but I think that gargs grow fairly slowly. Have you tried other methods of feeding it? I've heard that adding some more crickets (but not too many) can help add protein to their diet which can help make them grow more. But again, I would wait until someone more experienced than myself responds.

Well for one stop hang feeding because your gecko need to learn to eat on its own, I know you are feeling like you are doing a good thing for it, but hand feeding it nightly is not teaching it to feed on its own. Gargs like cresties are slow growers, and I am sure if has grown some. Are you offering it crickets at all? Whats the temps in your room you have it in? Which CGD are you offering, the normal CGD or the part 2?

I tried feeing it crickets but it wouldn't take them but that was a while ago so i'll prob try them again. Its just the 1 part CGD, but i don't hand feed every time.

sounds pretty normal to me. i have some that are over a year old that aren't even that size, snout to tail tip. the cgd mrp is fine, but if you do decide to get the two part try fig, and rose, it might eat a bit more. the mrp on its own is fine. do ease up on the hand feeding. crickets aren't a necessity, and ok once in a while but if it's poo'n, then its eating. it should be fine.
