gargoyle geckos

so i've been doing a lot of research on gargoyle geckos and i just purchased a cage for one. does anyone know anything about them i should know. and how about an online breeder? does anyone recrommend one?

Brian, I am not being intentionally harsh, but no those are not cages from Protean! Jason (proprietor of Protean Terrarium and Imports) is a friend of mine, but I began making my own glass cages long before there was a Protean.

Cost is greatly dependent on local glass prices. If memory serves me right, I made them 11" wide x 18" deep x 24" tall.

so i have my cage and my setup and my gargoyle comes in on wednesday! now i've read a bunch of care sheets but they all seem to have their own idea on heat and humidity. what do you keep yours at?

sorry harold...there nice cages tho! i wish i had the skill and patience to make my own.



i use small uth's during the winter, no heat in fall, spring, or summer-room temps, and humidity in pittsburgh is pretty high, so i just spray my rhac cages every evening(my humidity is around 70-80 usually).

well my house is sort of cold. so whats too cold and what's too hot?

yea, my house is pretty cold, i keep my house thermostat at around 66. during the day i keep mine around 75-82 degrees. from what ive found under 68 and over 88 is somewhat stressful.

okay bc i have a 60 watt uvb heat bulb on and it keeps it around 78-80 degrees. and at night i will turn it off or use a 50 watt moonlight bulb.
