Gas Guzzler

Holy crap!

I just paid $3.07 a gallon for 93 octaine at Sunco this morning. And in a car that gets 18mpg, that hurts. Prices were like 2.30 a month ago.

It gets warmer and the pumps decide to take your buck. Whats wrong with this picture? Are people trying to skeet my hard earned dollar in a cheeky way through gas prices? Or is the world really running out of barrells?

93 octane is $3.29 by me...

The answer to your question depends very much on who you ask. I had to do a research paper on that subject last year and you would be amazed at some of the stuff I have found...

Does your car require 93 octane? You could save some if you can run a lower octane, if you can. There is really no benifit in running a higher octane in an engine that isn't designed for it anyway.

Of course it goes up in the summer. It's vacation season. So people take nice long drives to their destinations. All the garage kept big liter engines, hit the road. Boats & jet skis hit the lakes and oceans. It's the time of year where everyone is in need of the octane and they know this.

Naw its an 04 cobra. I Have to run a high octane to support the higher air/fuel ratio from the boost it puts out.

even the 88 mustang I use on more of a daily basis needs 93.

other wise the car pings around town

I hear alot of other people have it worse, so i wont complain

my 95 V8 Roadmaster with a corvette engine drinks about $70 every 2 weeks. It's a fun ride though so I don't really complain at all.;)

Wow...you're 16 and have a Cobra? I take it your parents are very trusting

I don't understand why a 16 year old needs two cars though...

The whole car sence has been a hobby of my fathers. So when I told him I wanted a mustang he told me to start saving my pennys. I just so happen to hold a job a good job at CRTperformance (autoracing shop) and could make a nice down payment. Never the less the bank owns more of the cobra than I do. And ofcourse I only drive it when the weather permits. Thus I have the older mustang when the clouds fold over.
