Hi,

After his last molt my Gecko has stopped eating. She is still active as usual. Sometimes she does this but usually is then voracious after about 3 days. It has now been over a week and she hasn't eaten anything. Also, she makes a mess in her house as in quite a lot of the moss is all around the hide, whereas usually she is very neat. I also noticed that one of her fingers is at a weird angle and when she walks she doesn't use it to hold on and puts no pressure on it. I suspect that during her last molt she somehow hurt/broke her finger and this is causing stress and pain and hence not eating and scratching the moss.

What should I do?

Thanks!

Giulia

She is probably ovulating. Digging in the humid hide is definitely a sign of that. Make sure she has plenty of substrate in her humid hide so she has a place to lay infertile eggs if she happens to develop some. Not all females will do this, but some will. She likely will not eat for quite a while. It's normal, and she has plenty of weight, so you don't need to worry. =)
