Gecko getting darker?

I noticed that within the past couple of days, my SHTCT female is darker. This is also the same female that has lost 15 grams and is slowly recovering from unknown causes. We believe that the color change has nothing to do with her weight loss and wonder if there is any reason for it. Her feet look dirty and she's not as bright anymore. Any input, suggestions, comments would be great. Here are some pics (of feet and body):

Getting a pale color is often a sign of stress or illness. Has your unknown illness been diagnosed by a vet? My guess is the color change is a direct result from an illness.

It also could be because of being too cool. I had one that was hanging out on the cool side for a few days and got dark but then lighted up again. He also got dark from the stress of being near an ovulating female (other half of a 20G) Stress as Matt just said. I removed her and he got bright again.

Illness or a lot of stress, or both. When our bearded dragon was shipped to us, he was really dark for a few days, and we even thought we were sent the wrong beardie! Turns out he was just stressed from shipping and hadn't retained his light color until he had adjusted to his new home. Similarly, our Mack Snow Patternless changes from being brown to lighter brown to white, depending on his mood.

I was just about to ask the same questions...

Temps being too low could be playing a role in the weight loss and loss of appetite.

Temperature is the most common reason for darkening of the skin, but I don't think that would be visible in a couple of days. I have some albinos that I on purpose put in a terrarium that cools down at night to create beautiful dark coloration, but it takes a few weeks!

ya know i had a similar issue with my fat tail gecko when i redid her set up and switched to coconut bark. The brick that you have to soak in water for it to break up. Well it was still wet but cooling down so she sat on her heat rock and got lighter. after a few hours she warmed back up and went to her darker normal coloring.

is she eating? Does she have hides in her enclosure? Are you using an under tank heater?

I would say her color does look like a stressed color, not just a darkening in color.

Just a dumb question, You say the vet found nothing. Im just assuming he did a fecal exam right? I ask because some times it is hard to find a good qualified herp vet.

I have a Hypo Tang that looks simalier in color. He is eating and has put on weight. He is sheding right now so maybe tomarrow I will post a pic of him.
I think also taking her to anouther Herp vet for a 2nd opinion would be a good ideal.
