Quick question if anyone can help. Just caught my gecko hacking like a cat with hair balls ! Nothing came out tho but she did it several times until she noticed I was watching and ran to her hide. I'm not sure whats going on. Any advice ?

I would fill out the form but she is the same one as my thread....how long is to long for not pooping ... so I'm just seeing if anyone has any experience with this

It could be a respiratory infection, or just had something go down wrong. If it happens again you may want to take it to the vet.

Yea. I stayed up for most of the night with her to watch her. I took her out of the tank too. I know I shouldn't have but I used a heating blanket and made a nice dark hide for her beside me in bed so i could lay down with her and watch. She hacked about 3 time in a row once more nut that was it. I finally put her back into her tank at around 2 in the morning so I could get some rest

She hasn't been eating so she didn't choke on worms or anything. We had fed her A/D earlier in the day with no reaction so I don't know if it took a while before she felt sick about it ? I'm keeping an eye still. It was just very shocking to see her doing whatever she was doing

I caught one of my girls doing that once. Turned out she puked up a piece of sphagnum and a superworm, she ingested when the worm must have latched onto it going down.

If a gecko has not been eating, they can regurge when they finally eat, especially if it's too much at one time.

Hmm that might be the case then. She has been sick and was being fed A/D for two weeks but we took her off it to see if she would eat real food again. She wouldnt so we hoped if we made her a bit hungry that she would cave and eat but she still didn't so we gave her A/D again , more than she had been getting.

Should we wait to feed her now or continue ?
