Okay, so back in October, I picked up a second gecko. She's a subadult, with plenty of places to hide, proper heat (tile stays about 88-94 on the surface, fluctuating between the thermostat turning on and off), fresh water, etc. In the past couple of weeks, she's become incredibly irritable. Of course, she's never been as calm and cool as my adult, which is to be expected, but she never outright freaked out when i had to clean her cage or feed her. Now whenever I take out some of the decor at feeding time (Bugs tend to hide underneath, so she can't get at them), she darts around her cage frantically, bashing her head into the glass and everything. She used to eat two to four medium dubia per sitting, but now she'll eat one or two before running around in a panic. The only solutions I can come up with are related to the changing of the seasons, but I'd figure she'd just eat less and roam around a lot less... but this is actually kinda worrying behavior. Should I just leave her alone for a few days to a week, and let her settle back down? I don't try to handle her because she gets really aggressive, waving her tail as soon as I put my hand in to refill water or drop roaches. She'll slap me with her tail and hit me with her nose if I even get close to her. She wasn't like this before. She was always a bit shifty, but never outwardly aggressive. What gives?
