Hello everyone,

I've had a leopard gecko for about one month now. It has shed 3 times since I got him. The first time it shed within days that I got it. After that I noticed that it's feet had turned black. I didn't know why but researched it a bit and realized it was bc of a bad shed. I put it in warm water (feet high) but it's feet are still back. I did the bath thing about 3 times now and I'm worried that it's toes could possibly fall off in the future. Any suggestions as to what I could further do wil be appreciated, thanks.

Hello welcome to the GF do you have him on news paper? becuase that could be why but
if thats not it then you might want to see a vet. And not just any vet a vet that knows about reptiles.

I would recommend a vet visit to help get the shed off, may also need some type of rx treatment to prevent loss of digits/limbs or even to prevent infection from setting in. Even if loss of digits/limbs does happen, they can still live long happy lives after the incomplete shed issues are resolved. Good luck!

well thank you for your comments. I will look into a rep vet asap. In his last shed which was 2 days ago, some of it's toes turned white again. I will try to give him a very humid place to shed next time it sheds, which should be in about 3 weeks or less.

Its a juvenile btw.

Thank you Holly for the welcome. ... No it's on a felt like material, like the ones found at an arts & crafts section.
