try to feed it daily as much as you can get to eat. as long as it doesn't regurgitate meals you should be able to get it back up to a good weight in no time.2 or 3 large crickets or superworms every day is what i'd work toward.
good luck!
I tried giving him olive oil and he regergitated it.. I am feeling helpless what should I do..
I have took him to the vet... Four times so far one for surgury around the vent due to enlarged genitals.. He has been better now and the vet flushed out his vent area.. He said that he should be eating soon but I havent seen him eat, as for his eyes I have done saline, q tip wiping for a while now a long with a bath with a lid..I have put to much money and work to just give him away... Off topic but.. If you could please find me the best setup posssible from petsmart I am getting from my dad 250 dollar gift card to petsmart for my lizard so any recommendations on what I should get would be awesome.. I have a vet appointment for in about two weeks.. I know it seems far but hopefully he can hang in... I also am going to ask about his eyes..
Why are u asking about set ups ? Dont you know what the setup should be?Thats gecko 101 stuff. Whats your husbundry like? I think all your problems are husbundry issues.
I have stopped using the light only the red for night viewing.. and I have a UTH but I think it is pretty small.... but it said 10-20 gallons... I noticed without the light.. I think the temps are around 75.. what do I do... right now the red lights on and its 90 degreesget rid of the light first thing, that's not going to help. i hope you have an undertank heater underneath about 1/4 of the cage so the animal can properly thermoregulate.
leopard geckos are nocturnal and light is unnecessary.
something i've noticed over the years is that a large percentage of people with geckos that don't eat use overheat lights on the cages.
Put him up for adoption. I'm not trying to be mean, but your gecko has issues that you clearly cannot resolve. Give him a chance with someone well versed in rehabilitating leopard geckos, not someone wanting a free gecko. Maybe you can find someone fairly local.
I have had him for two years hes seems to be fine now did you read my above post I am pleased with myself .. I think the problems should die down now and we will still go to our check up I wouldnt give away my animal thats going through hard times I spent to much on him to just stop. I just should of done more research its my fault.... that hes in this shape but I am trying to fix it and I have been doing a bunch of research...So like I said problems should stopI second that.
People told you, including a vet tech, to stop trying to treat the animal yourself as well as take it to another vet since you claim to have been taking it to one since it's been having so many issues. You always seem "to have an appoinment coming up" but nothing ever seems to get resolved.
You've supposedly had this animal for 2 years now and as someone else mentioned further on down the thread... this is care 101. The husbandry should be in check by now.
You never seem to take ANY of the advice anyone has given you and when you get all the negative feedback, you just start a new thread about ANOTHER issue the animal has. I've noticed your posts alot lately and there's always a reason as to why you aren't listening to what people are telling you or why you're acting the way you do. Enough excuses. Do something about it.
