Hi all-
There is lots of good info on this forum on taming your new gecko.
My question is our 3 month old is always in her hide. So when we put our hand in to get her used to us she doesn't come out. Should we be lifting up her hide and then put our hand in or would that freak her out to be uncovered?

Just to make sure, your putting your hand in at night correct? Because they are nocturnal, and mine stays in his hide all day, then comes out at night. Sooo, if you were doing it at day, then try it at night. When i lifted the hide up my leopard gecko stood there a moment, freaked out, then looked at me and he was like "wtf!?". So im sure it does.

But most of all, you dont harrass her, if she doesnt want to come out dont make her. Try to do it when shes out of her hide at night.

Hope i helped :p

Yes, leopard geckos are nocturnal. So they won't be too active during the day. And especially because it's only three months old, you shouldn't bother it too much. Some leopard geckos (After some time) become active during the day because of handling and feeding. If you put an infrared light in your cage, he might be a little more active in the day time, as these geckos cannot see infrared lighting.
