Gecko is Obsessed with Mealworms!

Hi Guys... I've had my gecko for about 2.5 years now and he has always been happy and healthy. In the past 5-6 months however, he seemed to lose interest in crickets. He was still eating them but not as many as he used to. He became very skinny and quite sickly looking. I decided to see if he would respond to meal worms the other day and after a little apprehension he started eating them like crazy. He probably went through 30 (and counting) today alone! Is this normal or is he trying to recover some of his weight lost in the past months?

P.S. - cage conditions were/are normal. Gecko has also regained some color. Meal worms are medium sized.

Thanks!

One of my leos decided he's just too good for crickets now, he will only eat mealworms lol. Mine usually eat about 15-25 mealies depending on their appetite that day. I think he'll be fine as long as he's eating and pooping normally now. :)
