I'm not exactly sure what to do, but my girlfriend was holding one of my geckos in the truck and it jumped. Being over-protective and safety conscious, I asked her not to unbuckle. By the time we stopped, the gecko COULD NOT be found ANYWHERE. I took apart the back seat. We looked under and inside EVERYTHING. If he is inside of a seat cushion or something what can I do to draw him out?

Will he sniff out food if I leave a big dish of meal worms or something? Is there a type of trap I can use?

Thanks in advance

wow, sorry to hear that i hope you find him. Maybe leave the car out in the cold and put like a heat pad on the floorboard or something that will attract him to the warmth. Might work thats the only thing that i could think of, and maybe a hide ontop of the heatpad.

that thing can fit in places you'd never imagine.... like under the dashbourd, in the seat.. anywhere!

put a shirt, box , anything to hide under on the floor with a few mealworms in a dish under that..... maybe it'll go hide there?

Try putting some kind of humid hide in there, it might go for the humidity and you might just find it in there??

I know this may sound crazy but I have had it happen a couple of times with snakes. What really works and youhave to be right there watching is to turn your heat on in the truck and then just watch and wait.....it WILL show up..

Hello, I had the same thing happen to me about 6 months ago while cleaning cages. I had my cage open turned around to grab my water bottle and it was that quick. the gecko was out and back through my rack system. i tore my room apart for 3 days and nothing. I put out water and food and a small heat pad but nothing. Finally after about a week I gave up the search figuring she would turn up sooner or later. Well weeks turned into months. 6 months went by and one morning i walked into my gecko room looked down into one of my cleaning buckets and wouldn't ya know it, their she was. she was very skinny and had a lot of retained shed on her toes. She was quickly warmed up in an empty cage and soaked overnight in warm water to rehydrate her. I soaked her every other day for a week. After 2 weeks she shed all of her retaining shed off her toes, began to eat. and now she is on her way to recovery, gaining weight every week...Moral of the story, your gecko will turn up just when you least expect it...
