Last night I was trying to figure out why Yoshi didn't eat her dinner. I looked inside the humidity hide and discovered why. She was shedding. I am so excited that I finally got to watch my gecko shed! Has anyone ever seen their reptile shed?

I've seen my snakes shed many times. I just got my leo about 3 weeks ago. She tuned white, and I was happy because I knew she was about to shed. I misted her and checked about 2 hours later and she was chillin in her hide eating her shed! Pretty cool!

Yes i have seen it. Usually i catch just the end of their shedding but one time when i couldn't sleep i turn to my tank and saw my tremper albino all bright white. He was smooshing his head into the side of the tupper ware container. i watched him do this for 30 minutes then i decided to help him since he got no where haha. IT was cute seeing him smoosh himself against the clear container. i carefully pulled of the shed and it is now a fully intact dry shed suit. its even got every little finger and the brow ridge details. I guess i am a nerd and ecided to keep it because i thought it was so cute. He seemed to very much enjoy my help. All i did was just hold the one piece of shed he had that was off (looked like he was wearing a hoodie) as he walked out of it. the finger sheds came off perfectly, usually those are a pain to get off.

wait...this concerns me...my gecko is shedding and has been for the last few days...i figured it would take maybe a couple of days to shed completely (she is only shedding on her right side interesitng enough) but does that mean that whatever shed is still on her back will not come off itself? It's her first time shedding.

I have 2 that shed early evening, 1 sheds about once a month (adult) and the other sheds about every 2 weeks (juvie) I think it's pretty neat to watch :)

If I need to help, I use my plastic feeding tongs and/or a warm, moist q-tip. They generally do good on their own though.

I have 2 others that shed in the night, the only way I can tell is they go gray.

I always catch my juvie(He is round 3 months) shedding and he always eats it but he does not like eating it all and he leaves it in the water bowl for some reason and not in the humid hide...

We found Henry's tail shed once (a whole tail intact) and my daughter took it to school to use for a Gecko oral report she was doing at school. Everyone thought it was very cool. lol!

Yesterday i saw 1 of my geckos shedding, he ate the hole skin, just missed a little bit of one leg, so i helped him. he didn't seem happy with my help but....it was really cool.
i usually wet a piece of cotton with hot water and scrub it onto his leg to take his skin out.
