Gecko Tail Problem

Today I found that about half my geckos tail looks black and shriveled up. it looked fine yesterday. what happened? what should i do?

He probably tried to drop half of his tail but it didn't detach.
Keep an eye on it, if it starts to show signs of infection (redness, smelly discharge, swelling) take him to the vet asap!

Keep an eye on it. Something similar happened to one of my geckos (bad shed) where she promptly ate it. So don't be terribly surprised if you wake up and find part of the tail MIA.
