well...this is the first time ive had any problems like this so here it is:
recently i noticed that 6 of my smallest leopard geckos have been throwing up their food and their poop has been very watery. it doesnt seem they can keep the food down, they eat, but maybe an hour or two later i find it all barfed out. i have moved them out of my rack from fear of it spreading.
they live on paper towels, have humid hides, get calcium, and eat appropriatly sized dubia and lateralis. i have not changed anything in what ive been doing besides getting a new rack. this is when the problems started.
the other geckos in the rack are mid sized to adults, all are eating and pooping fine, all are active and normal acting. its just my little guys, the late 11's that seem affected. the breeders in the big rack are also not acting any different (besides one female laying eggs already, but i think shes just off on timing). heat temp hasnt changed either (my first thought was maybe it was too hot, but the thermo is right where it was at for the last 2 years)
when i got the rack, the guy had been keeping snakes in it, and said he had mites at some point but got rid of them, i cleaned the rack when i got it. i have never dealt with mites, but i dont see anything that looks like them on my animals or their tubs, so i dont think its that. also, it seems to have affected them all at once, rather then stating with one and moving on to the next then the next.
im going to see about getting a fecal exam done tomorrow if the vet has a spot. i have a feeling its possibly viral or bacterial. thoughts?
