A while back i posted a thread in the genetics section to id my leo
http://geckoforums.net/showthread.php?t=66603

The guy that sold it to me didn't know much about them, he said he didn't know what kind of morph they were so thats why he was selling them for so cheap. Said he bought them at a smaller show, seems like he hasn't fed him since.
I got him for 17 dollars at the reptile show, the guy didn't even sell geckos but he had a few that he bought at another show, he didn't know much about them and they seemed skinny. The thing that caught my eye was that nice carrot tail, it is regenerated but before it was cut off it seemed to have a nice carrot tail
Seeing that it broke pretty far down though, I'm guessing he had a pretty decent carrot tail

So let me get on with the story, i have him now for about 17 days and let me show the difference in him. He was very tamed when i got him, but now he comes out even when the lights go on or when I'm sitting in front of the tank , and his appetite has gone up like crazy.

So what your guys think, much improvement? He was fed only on crickets no fattening foods. He is eating very very well now.

One Q: Now that i know i have a SHTCTB, what would i breed him to to get that nice carrot tail he has passed on? Could i breed him/Her to an carrottail eclipse or a SUNGLOW or another SHTCTB to get some babies with that nice carrot tail?

Thanks Chris

carrot tail is line bred trait, so when you breed two geckos with carrot tails together, some babies will have better carrot tails, then you breed them together to get more carrot tail. So this gecko has his carrot tail from a lot of line breeding to get a better and better carrot tail.
so bascially what im saying is, breed him with another gecko with a good carrot tail for some really good carrot tails, or breed him with an okay CT for babies with an average CT.
Any gecko with a carrot tail. A sunglow would be good, yes. Then all the hatchlings would be het albino, so then you could breed the hatchlings to each other for some Sunglows with good CT.

good luck.

Very Nice Leo! Great CT too. Not to be nit picky but you really should put your UTH under the tank not stuck to the side as you have, belly heat is very important.
