I bought 2 feamle geckos around 6 months or so of age. They were both eating when i got them, and then suddenly stopped. They weren't really dropping off to much weight, but they sure hadn't grown any.I've had them for a month. I took them to the VET, and they were overran with internal parasits, and he gave me Panacur- treat for 5 days! Today has been 5 days, the smaller of the 2 has already picked up alittle and starting eatting again. The bigger one hasn't that I can tell.

There stool was right at solid when i took them to the vet, and now its back to nasty almost white!!! sticks too....

How long will it take them to get back to gaining weight and looking healthy again???

Thanks for any help at all.........
Josh

the panacur is really hard on their bodies even though its doing good by killing the parasites.
give them a few days to a week after treatment to see if they improve, if not then take them back for another check-up :)

Have you called the vet to ask this question? Maybe he has experience treating geckos with panacur and can tell you whether he's seen this before?

It seems logical that their white stool could very well could be the panacur or the dead parasites being expelled, but it also could be something else entirely. I'm not sure anyone can tell you 100% if its normal or not over the internet without actually seeing the stool and gecko.

As sausage said, I would give them a few days to let the remainder of parasites and panacur exit their bodies. If the white stool continues for more than a week after you've stopped treating them take them back to the vet.
