Okay. We just finished moving and such and got all of our geckos set up in their own room and thought everything was well, but we went to check on them and one of our babies has swollen eyes!! She was fine before and it had only been a couple of days since we last checked on her. Her clutch mate was in there with her as well and she is completely fine. We are so confused by this. Both her eyes are almost completely swollen shut!! I have her an appt. set up for next Monday, but is there anything that we should be doing for her in the meantime or any advice that anyone can give as to why this may have happened? We have separated her and she's not acting sick. She's still eating and pooping normally and there has been no change in attitude, etc. She's even still catching her crickets and everything fine.

Any advice or thoughts would be much appreciated! Thanks guys! :)

There are several possibilities. Loose substrate, trauma, Vitamin A deficiency, old shed around the eyes. It might be a good idea to remove the eco-earth, it is loose and gets in their eyes. It can also harbor bacteria and be costy to replace often. It can also increase the humidity too much for a leopard gecko.

Keep us posted:)

We do use coco-fiber in our adult cages, but keep paper towels in our baby cages b/c I'm more paranoid about them getting it in their eyes etc. Sorry. I should've specified that in my OP. (lol) That's one of the reasons why we're kind of confused and don't know what to do, especially with her clutchmate being completely fine. They've been together since they were born. (lol)

Vitamin A deficiency? We dust their crickets in calcium and multivitamins, so if that's what it is does she just need extra of the multivitamin or one that is strictly vitamin A? We did notice that that coco-fiber causes the humidity to rise, so we made vent holes in all of the cages that do have it in there to increase air flow, and that has improved as well. :)

Sorry I'm rambling you guys. It's mostly b/c the people on here seem to know more than our herp vet does. (lol)

Those were just some possibilities. Do not change anything unless the vet suggest so. So are they open now? any shed around the eyes?
