Hi, Ok so I bought a leopard gecko from +++++ about a month ago and she was fairly skinny but she was in the best condition out of 3. She wouldnt eat at first but now she eats the waxworms and some crickets but she will not gain any weight. I also noticed that when she goes poo that the thing she ate is like whole. Like not digested. I also found a black patch on her tummy a while back and it was like by her ribs but now today I noticed it moved down to her stomach and theres a huge black spot. I will put a pic but she is VERY skinny. Also when she has normal poo its a little runny. Sorry for bad pic quality. I gave her a warm bath today and she went poo but it was like a whole waxworm with a little normal feces. 10511308_597674413683411_753424500789275510_n.jpg
I am very concerned for her. She lets me hold her and stuff. This week im getting a new leo maybe she will have a friend to make her happy. Ok just so you guys now shes in a 15 gallon long tank with reptile carpet. I dust everything she eats with repti calcium (with d3) She has 1 Hide on the cold side and 1 on the hot she also has a moist hide on the warm area I make sure i give her fresh water everyday and the tank stays between 83-87 In the day and around 76 at night. All help appreciated I need it ASAP. Thanks

#1 if you get a new leopard gecko DO NOT put them together. If the little one is sick it could pass to the new one and kill them both.

If the things she's eating look whole it may be that she is regurgitating them and not digesting them. This would also lead to her not getting any nutrition or calories from them and losing weight. The black spot in her belly does not look good. I would be scared for her too as she is super skinny, possibly too skinny to make a comeback but where there is life there is hope!

I would start by getting her an UTH and leaving it on 24/7. It will need to be regulated with a dimmer or thermostat. The temps you describe sound a bit too cool. I keep my babies warm end at 91 24/7. They definitely need 89-90, 87 is a bit too cool and no heat overnight is not ideal either. That shouldn't cause her to be so skinny by itself though. You also want to make sure her hides provide a dark place she can hide and feel secure. They should allow her to get 100% out of the light.

A vet visit and a fecal and/or crypto test would be a good idea. If she has crypto there is nothing you can do for her and you should destroy all of the equipment that has been exposed to her as the parasite is very difficult to kill and can be easily passed to other geckos that come in contact with it.

Good luck and keep us posted on how she does!
