Gecko's - Male + Female -Enclouser's

Can a Male permanently be stored with a Female - Females. I one time read that they can't and i'd like further explanation. What are your thoughts on this and how do you store your geckos?

I always keep a permanent harem set-ups: one male to two-three females. As long as I plan to breed them. The guy in the back is the male (Emeril) and Katana is the female in the damp hide. There is also another female in this 20L tank.
