Gecko's Pooping habits

My gecko seems to always poop in the same spot in his viv, however I want to move the viv around a bit and put one of his hides there. Will be move his 'bathroom' to a new spot or will he poop in or on his hide??

I tried that once, and mine just pooped on whatever I sat down there lol. I think it's easier to work around the poop spot, rather than train your gecko to poop somewhere else. They don't look at these hides as novelties like we do.

yep- leos are special in that they poo in a particular spot- however, sometimes that spot will change depending on how they feel about the set up of the tank- right now my girl is angry because she is in a temp tank until i repair her viv, so she poops here and there- shes a tantrum girl where in the tank does your leo poop( middle, right/left back/front etc ?) it may be worth trying, depending on how long youve had them. the leo will let you know if they disagree

Mine poops same spot every time. I just put a paper towel on top of my tile in that spot and change every morning during tank maintenance.

We took a scrap piece of 1/2" tile that we use as a substrate and put it in the poo corner. The first poo was in a different spot but since they our little guy poops right on top of it. MUCH easier cleaning, lol. Just pull out the 2x4" piece and wash it off.
