Hi!
I am a bit confused on how to do the genetic notation for Reverse Stripe Tangarine Albino (possibly Giant) Het RAPTOR..crossed with Tangarine Albino Jungle Het RAPTOR and RS. How do I genetically notate that to put it into the punnet square? :main_huh: There's so many different things there, for a slight begginer at genetics, that cross is a bit overwhelming. Thanks! :main_thumbsup:

It might be easier to just ignore the tangerine (and assume the offspring will all show a degree of tangerine influence) and pattern (and assume a variety of stripes, jungles and reverse stripes) parts and just consider the rest.

If you use 'a' to represent an albino allele, 'e' for eclipse and 'G' for giant, the phenotype of the two geckos are (assuming the first IS a giant):
GgaaEe
ggaaEe

You can also effectively ignore the albino part since all of the offspring will be albinos and just do a punnet square for GgEe x ggEe, which should be easy enough for you. Obviously if the first one isn't actually a giant, it is even easier!

Awesome THANKS! That helps narrow it down a bunch. I knew all will be albinos and tangarine...what about the jungle pattern on the female? Isn't that pattern a dominate trait?

Never mind that...it's polygenetic....oops. :)

So, just using Ee/Gg and Ee/gg I should get....(If I'm doing this right...this is the first time I've done a complex cross)

2/16- Gg
1/16-GE
1/16-Ge
2/16-gg
3/16-gE
3/16-ge
1/16-EE
2/16- Ee
1/16-ee
All-albino
Gosh...not sure if I did that right....And what about the heterozygous traits the parents have? I know the Ee is the eclipse which is albinised in RAPTOR...but what about the fathers, Reverse Stripe and the females het for reverse stripe? So am I to just assume that I will get reverse stripes and jungles?

What offspring being hets for certain traits? How do I know that?
