I hatched out a SHTCT in may with a curled tail tip. all the other eggs that have hatched from the same pairing have not had any problems( one egg did have TWINS in it). my questionis if the tail curl a genetic defect or just a birth defect because it is one I would like to hold back for breeding projects. but if I decide to sale it I need to know if it should be a pet only or a possible breeder.

Well, some people would cull it in this situation, physical or genetic defect. That's your choice. If you do decide to keep it do not breed it.

the tail kink could have been caused by a temperature fluctuation, but you can't be absolutely sure. it could also be a sign of an underlying genetic deformity of the skeletal system. i have a normal that hatched out with a 90 degree kink at the tip of her tail. i'm almost positive it was from a temp issue when i moved, but she will never be bred. i suggest you keep this one as a pet only
