I always use a disinfectant soap before and after handling my geckofor their and my safety, but i was wondering if Germ-X is safe to use. I know that there is alot of alcohol in the mixture but it does kill 99.9% of all germs.

I use hand sani all the time, but I never handle a gecko or snake right after I put it on though.

I myself use it all the time. I also make anyone at a show sanitize their hands before and after ever handling one of my geckos.

I'm a nurse and I know that this makes no difference with reptiles, but there was a study done about hand sani at my hospital. Usingit is even more effective than washing your hands. In order for it to be effective though it has to dry. Although if you have ever put it on your hands and then eaten something 30 minutes after without completely washing your hands you get a horrible taste in your mouth. So I would imagine that your gecko would get a horrible taste and not want to lick you anymore.
