Hello,

We have a beardie now that was pet store bought. She was bought from a reliable pet store and is turing out great. She is actually turning a bit orange. The only thing is she is 3 months old and only 40g...is that normal? Anyway I am thinking of getting another beardie. There is a pet store in my area that has 6-9 week old babies...but the pet store where I know the staff and got my other one at is getting some bigger ones about 2-4 months old. What do you guys think? Oh yeah...and like I said we have a female, should we get another female and house them together or are you supposed to even house females separatly??

Thanks

If you are going to get a second one and I know that it is hard not to once you have been bit by the Beardie Bug-lol

I would house them sepatately -first for quarentine reasons and also though beardies are very social lizards-there can be dominace over basking spots and food

They really would do better off in their own tanks which of course means the extra expense of buying all the lights/tank/cage furniture for the second one
Also your cricket/worm bill will double
Those guys eat an incredable amount of insects at that age

Have you had your beadie's poop checked for parasites/elevated coccidia levels by a vet yet?
Both when present will keep them from growing
I would do that before you invest in a second dragon
hope that this helps
:D
