Ok so I have finally committed to getting my first leopard gecko. He is from Gecko Emporium (can't say enough good things about Adam. HE ROCKS! :main_thumbsup: ).

I'm still trying to understand all the genetics behind him so I'll just put up what Adam had said about him... "Visual sexed male Mack snow 100% het Bell and poss. het patternless"

Here's a couple pix of him:

Gotta Love that Heart on his nose. Kinda befitting since he's my 10th anniversary present.

I think it will take some time before I even attempt breeding. My head is spinnin now just trying to understand morphology. What would a mack bell look like?

For humid hides I use ziploc or similar containers. The ones I have measure about 6"x6". My dry hides are plastic tubs that are something like 3"x4". My leos are in racks hence the bland decor lol. If you want like a nice tank setup, usually the medium sized petstore hides are adequate for an adult male. Depnding on the brand, a small size may be just fine too. You dont want the hide too big because they go in there lookin for security. I would say length wise, try to get something around the length of the leos body + 1/2 tail length. A little smaller or larger isnt a big deal. They're not all that picky. Likely, you can just pick something out that you think looks good and your leo will agree :)

Cool. I have TON of slate and shale rock left over from my tortoise and when we went creek walking to find stuff for Brey's Ball pythons cage, so I think we're gonna be able to make several nice sized hides for this fella. One of the benefits of living near a nice creek... and yes they have all been soaking in bleach water for the last 6 hours. It's giving me a wicked headache :(

Me too... my rabbitry gets bleached once a month, EVERY cage... then burned (burn the cages, not the rabbits) every 3 months to get off moult hair, and spot bleached in between when we change over trays. I bleach the floor every couple weeks as some of the boys like to overspray their urine guards *grrr* and red rabbit pee on a cement floor is just nasty.

Yeah I figured with all the slate I have that I can make several hidey spots and kinda build things up like a little gecko condo thingy :) Multi levels.

Hershey just makes me think of chocolate *bonafied chocoholic here* :)

Tweetheart is cute.

I really like "original" off the wall names. Like all the rabbits are named after movies/celebrities.
