Has the ghost trait in leopard geckos been proven? And exactly what is it?

I really have no idea. lol. I think a ghost's color fades drastically as it gets mature and it's final color is a faded version of what it should be? Not sure...lol.... I would like to know exactly what a ghost is as well..

The Ghost is in my mind a co dom,I have hatched out 1000s over the years (when i did geckos)
Ghost X Normal About 45% Ghost
Ghost X Ghost about 80% Ghost
some people are selling them as Dom.but if that is the case you would get 100% ghost when you breed Ghost X Ghost.It has been years since i have breed Ghost so my % could we off a little.

Thanks that's helpful! I'm so lost on the whole co-dominant thing! I get recessive, dominant, and het, but co-dom is confusing to me....

I got 100% mack ghost (except the SS) from Mack ghost X Mack ghost breedings..

If it was incompletely dominant you would expect there to be a 'super' (heterozygous dominant) form. Is this the case or not?

By the way, if it was dominant two heterozygous individuals (which would both be phenotypically ghost, the same as a homozygous dominant individual) would only give 75% ghost offspring and 25% normal, although if either parent was homozygous dominant all offspring would be ghosts.

Not sure their is a super-form of the Ghost trait, we are talking Ray Hines, correct?

All I know is it had no effect on the Super Snow gene combo. And only one gecko I hatched out of the combo stated above had any spotting on body at all. (besides SS)((Both parent had no spots on body and from different breeders as well)) *shrugs*

I have never seen a super.I have kepped back the dulles thinking this was a super but never got 100% ghost from any breeding i did with him,back to his sister witch was a Ghost,non sib Ghost,to normals.The Ghost is still early in delovment and alot more work needs to be done.So some one jump abord and take it to the next level.

If anything, sounds more dominant than incompletely dominant then.
