Just wanted to show you something a bit different.....I bought a little juvie some months back. She was a holdback juvie that breeder Brett Boller kindly agreed to sell me. I saw something very rare and special in her back then, so I decided to hang on to her to see what course nature would take.
She is a Giant Banded Lavender, 50% Het Diablo Blanco.

Well, she has turned out to be spectacular. She is 85g at just 6 months old and growing like crazy. She's super friendly, her tail background color is almost completely lav, great body coloration, heart nose, and she will be a monster female when full grown. While I thought she'd just be a pet in my collection, now I think we may need to figure out a project for her. Suggestions appreciated........

Hope you enjoy......Miss Violet Rutherford:

Gorgeous...

I'd pair her with a Fasciolatus to start a high yellow body wide white/lavender banded project... Then breed with a W&Y... Line breed it until it seems dominant and breed the Eclipse gene into it... The ultimate goal being a pied type gecko...

Wow! She is just so amazing, Ray. I am in love with her!

Thanks Melanie, me too! Just goes to show you don't have to spend a fortune to get an outstanding leo. I bought her as a scrawny little juvie for a paultry $75...now I wouldn't sell her for $1000!
You just have to look at the potential...sometimes you get lucky.
When Brittney was working on our website, of all the high end leos in our collection, the one that blew her away was this one.....a $75 gecko! :main_thumbsup:

I've found some real winners by lurking at the table all day until the perfect one pops up. This girl is a big beauty!!!

Brett has been breeding the lavender into his animals for a long time. He might have a male with strong lavender banding and lavender tail for you to use. :)

Very nice Ray. Maybe you could utilise her Giant genetics to introduce the Giant gene into the Starlight Project. It would be a long process, but imagine a Giant (or Super Giant) Lav. Reverse Stripe Eclipse. The Eclipse gene may already be present in that girl as well, that would be a bonus.

Hi Ken...(how are your new girls there?)....yes, a giant Starlight would be very cool. Starlight herself is also getting huge now.....don't think she is a giant but she will be a very large girl.....maybe it's the mountain water out here. :) Her lav stripe seems to get a bit brighter lav with each shed lately, so I'm optimistic that she will have a great lav stripe when fully mature...

WOW Ray she does look fantastic:main_thumbsup:! I wish I had your camera or skills LOL. Now I wished I would have kept her LOL. For those interested my lavender line works as dominant now. What I mean is that's eight years of selective breeding and careful out crosses. This girl is from my L1 lavender line I have two lines right now:). I will have a Lavender page up within a month or so I am currently working on it. This will explain this gene a little better along with a few of the projects in mind as well. The crosses and out crosses will have a # system to describe the lavender projects at hand. I am hoping this will help everyone keep the genes straight forward when applying them to other morphs ect. I do have some juvenile males like I said a while back I had a incubator malfunction and cooked a bunch of my boys so the #s are very limited.
