giant mealworms

Do these cause impaction? if so, how many would be an ok amount to feed to a full grown leo every other day.

I am been feeding giant mealworms to my full size geckos, and they love them, but Im worried about impaction. I dont only feed them mealworms, but sometimes they will eat 5-10 of these giant mealworms.. is that to much?

I feed all my geckos crickets, silkworms, goliath worms, mealworms, and pinkies if they want them, But i noticed that most of the breeders here have just the small mealworms, which my large geckos wont touch.

A lot of people on this forum stay away from Giant Mealworms. They say they are like mealworms on steroids. Too many chemicals or something. For that reason, I just simply don't use them. If your leos don't eat the regular sized mealworms, try some superworms. I think they're awesome.

By the way, any type of mealworms won't cause impaction. That and mealworms eating their way through your gecko are totally false.

cracker (white spotted gecko) wont touch giants.
he loves regular mealworms, and even supers.
but not giants.

im guessing he picks up on something like that.

I don't use them either. When you read up on them from some places that sell them they say that they are giant due to artificial hormones. People don't like eating cows on hormones so why feed "juiced" up mealies to your geckos. That's just my reasoning.

No one knows if giants are good or bad for your leo yet but id stay away from them as like mentioned before, they are just mealies on steroids and the effects of the chemicals are not judged yet.
