My experiences with Phillip and Christine at GKO was totally awesome. They truly made an awesome foot print in the gecko industry. thank you GKO for outstanding customer services and a true interest in what i wanted. Thank you so much!!
I had the priviledge of meeting Phillip and Christine last year in Daytona, and think they are GREAT people. I'm sorry to see them leave Leopard Gecko breeding, and wish them the very best in whatever their future brings them!
Yeah GKO stands for Gamma Kapa Omega (I think i spelt that right?). I had a privalage emailing them back and forth and finally got a trio of raptors from them. Sound like really, really nice people. Hope them the best.
Christine and Phil are super busy with school and got job offers that may require them to move out of the country. And yes GKO is Gamma kappa omega (the fraternity of the geckos)
I love being friends with Kimjorg she does all the typing so I can sit back and be lazy LOL. Just to clear everything up... GKO was a made up name (there really isn't a REAL frat of the gecko). We decided to go with that because we found it a cool way to classify all the geckos and what not. Also because we are both attending college we wanted to bring a new edge the the gecko business. GKO "stands for" Gamma Kappa Omega ... the fraternity of the gecko. Aslo, Nigel is correct, it was the closest sounding to gecko that we could come up with. We could classify our males as the frat and our females as the sorority, our holdbacks as pledges etc. If you ever wondered... thats why all of breeders have Greek God names.
With that answered I would just like to say we feel honored that people think of us this way. It really brings joy to our heart when we hear people speak of this in this manner. Everybody (well mostly everybody) have been super helpful and amazing to us. We decided to stop breeding because our job of two years just shut the doors and fired all of around 200 employees one day. We were devastated seeming that was our family for the past 2 years. Betweening finding new jobs and school we have been very hecktic lately. We havn't had the proper time to keep running a "business" on top of it. Like Kim said one of our options we are looking into is working for Universal in Osaka, Japan. I don't think we could move all those geckos.
We would just like everybody to know that we really appreciate all the kind words. Eric... you are a great guy. We enjoy it on these forums and we will still be here. The internet is global, we can always find a way here. We have made so many great friends. Once again, thank you for everything in this community. Without everyone we wouldn't have known where and how to start and would be without many great friends. Like I said we are still here.
I hope i didn't embarrass you GKO. i am just calling it how it was...I only got to experience a few of the breeders on here but the ones i did have made a lasting impression on me! Thank you again for some awesome geckos!!
