Well was at my usual reptile shop at the weekend to get another leo and the guy just got some now crested geckos in and boy there gorgeous! first time ive really had a good look at them!
So after doing a fair bit of reading up on them they seem great so im going back in next week to pick one up. So from now till then ive got to get a set-up ready for the wee guy and just looking for some first hand info and help. Ive read a few caresheets already with some contradicting info. Anybody know any good ones?
Well im going for an exo terra glass terrarium, what size would be best to get? the 45x45x45cm or 45x45x60cm 60 obvcourse is the height :)
planning on putting one gecko in at first but maybe adding a 2nd at a later time.

And guys if its not too much trouble could you post some pics up of your setups? always good to see some pics and get ideas ;)

thankyou! :main_thumbsup:

lol i sooo want a crestie as well and hopefully will be getting one sometime this summer! anyway i've researched for like months and months and i would say that a 45x45x45 would be fine for a crestie, although a 45x45x60 would be nice for them ;) it's like they always say: bigger is better! it all depends on if you have the room/money for te 60 tall one. but yes i'd say 45x45x45 would be adequate!

well getting the bigger one isnt a problem, wasnt sure if it would freak the little guy out having all that space to himself :D ha.

Im defo needing some good ideas for decoration tho!

Go for the taller one. If it seems to be too much space at first you can always make a temporary roof. Here's my 1st crestie's home.

18x18x24 (fully admit to being American here...I can't do centimeters!). The substrate is lava rock with a layer of pvc sleeve over it to prevent settling. On top of that is a combination of sphagnum moss, orchid bark & soil from the plants.

:D no worries! i thought it would have been that size but the large plants must just make it look smaller in the pic.

very nice with the substrate, dont think mine will be that complex tho :D lol
