As some of you know I am taking care of a Leopard Gecko since my daughter no longer wants it. (after 24hrs) The area I am in, there is a mom and pop pet store about 20miles away (closest one, and same town that I work in) They are quite expensive IMO and have very little supplies except for the all in one package things that are priced about $30-$40 more than online stores and box stores. The nearest Big Box store, pet co, pet smart, etc is over 40miles away.

I am going school clothes shopping tomorrow Monday 8-5-13 with my girls and will be making the 40+mile drive to shop. While I am down there, I want to stop at the big box pet stores to get stuff I need to cause this little guy/gal to thrive.

If you see something I don't have and need, please let me know. I have a geckoforums short cut on my iPhone and will be checking it all day. Pet stores will be the last stop of the day. So I have until about 5pm EST to get all the info about what I need to get.

Here is the short pitiful list of what I have.

I have a 10gal tank, UTH, infrared temp gadget, green reptile carpet stuff, 2 generic hides made out cottage cheese containers (for warm and cool side), a water dish, a 60w day light and a 25w red night time light, Flukers calcium with vitamin D3 to put on the crickets. and based on size and weight a 2-3month old leopard gecko. Thats it folks.

This going to the local expensive pet store every other day for crickets is a pain in my behind! I also want to get a set up to house 20-30crickets so I can just go once a week possibly. What would I need for that as well?

Thank you so much in advanced for your input.

you should also get calcium without d3 to put in a bowl, or bottle cap so that your geckos can have access to calcium 24/7 if they feel they need it without overdosing on d3. you should also pick up a multivitamin, like rephashy supervite, to dust your geckos food with once a week. and you should also consider making a moist hide, which you can make by taking an empty plastic container with a lid, and filling it with damp eco-earth, sphagnum moss, or even damp paper towels and placing it on or near the warm side of you enclosure. this aids your gecko with shedding so they are less likely to lose toes if they shed badly! good luck with the gecko! if you have any questions feel free to ask me or anyone else on this forum!:D

Thanks... Should I keep the moist hide in there with him/her 24/7? or just like I did earlier this week and just have it in there while he is starting to shed?

I personally offer it to my geckos 24/7 just because its my females favorite spot to lay in :D but overall its really just a matter of preference, and you'll have to be very observant so that you can be sure to get it in their when your gecko sheds. hope this helps!
