after 58 days one of my golddust eggs hatched had one hatch last sunday but it didnt live. what is the best diet for hatchlings and how long before it wants to eat.

Tim, most hatchlings won't take to eating until 2-3 days after hatching. You can try Drosophila hydei or pinhead crickets. Make sure to dust with calcium at every feeding and with vitamins once or twice a week. The first 3-4 months of life is critical and they need to be looked after the most during this time. Hydration is also key as a dried up day gecko, is often a dead day gecko. Here's some pictures of how I rear my Phelsuma/Lygodactylus in stages:
