I'm looking for a good leopard gecko rack. I'm not sure what the best ones are so I need some help on that. I would preferably like one where I can keep two tubs in one slot. Also what size tubs would a Leopard Gecko need? (I think its 15q)

I love my Animal Plastics Iris 375 racks for adults. They fit two smaller or one big tub on each shelf. The smaller tubs are about 15qt and the bigger ones about 30qts. If you don't have time to wait for one (there's usually a 10-12 week manufacture time) or want something small cserpents also makes a similar rack with only 5 shelves I think.

Ok thanks! Ive been hearing a lot of mixed opinions on this. I want to get more pet leopard geckos but I dont have a lot of space for tanks so that is why I want a rack system. I have no intent on breeding anytime soon. I plan on buying 15q tubs in whatever rack I get and that would be there permanent home more or less. Is this ok?

15 qt tubs work for most geckos. Those that get over 80g may need a bit more room to be comfortable. If you have both male and female geckos I would recommend keeping them in separate racks or in different areas. I've found that females housed in close proximity to males tend to ovulate earlier and more and may be more prone to egg binding or other complications if you don't intend to breed them.

Thanks! I asked this on another gecko forum and no one at all answered it. All they kept telling me was "Dont use a rack. Tanks are better". It got really annoying lol

Google it. There are loads of commercially built racks out there. Boaphile sells theirs with tubs and heat included, plus shipping is calculated into cost and it come completely assembled

I tried asking this on Gecko Nation already, but for those who use racks, is it really necessary to burn all those little ventilation holes in the tubs? Thinking of the way Ron Tremper says to do it in his book. Seems like the only concern is high humidity building up. Since I live in a humid area to begin with, not sure the ventilation holes would help. Suppose I could always get some hygrometers and monitor to see...

I don't burn holes, I drill them. When you burn them it does make the edges a bit smoother but I haven't had an issue. I use a 3/8 bit and put about 10 holes in baby bins and 20 in adult bins and I have an air purifier running in the room to circulate air. My geckos have small water bowls and moist hides in their bins and I have no issues with humidity. In fact, I feel the rack provides a bit better humidity balance than a tank which can dry out easily and the enclosed end of the bin makes the geckos feel more secure. They are definitely outside of their hides and walking about more than they did in their tanks!
