Got a crested gecko...

Well, I got a free crested gecko / 20 gallon tall tank for free. The previous owner apparently ONLY fed him crickets so I have switched him over to CGD, and he loves it a lot. The question is, how much at a time. I know its two parts water one part CGD, so i'm giving him a water bottle cap full every night. Is that ok? He is also whitish with some black spots, what kind is he?

Comparing him to other adult cresteds , hes the same size as them. He is 4-5 also
