Granted it has only been a week since we aquired some more geckos from the latest herp show, the two Midnight Blizzards that we got changed dramatically personality-wise. I know they were probably EXTREMLY stressed from the shows, the ride home, and all the other stuff that comes with it... but at the show and for a few days afterwards they were wonderful with handeling and all that. Now the past 2 or 3 days they've both gotten really "Grr" all the sudden. They absolutly don't want to be touched (even though I get them out at feeding time so both get to eat seperatly), have gotten very nippy.... totally different from how they were.

Tonight I was moistening their one hide and filling the water dish when Thor ran over and bit the water in the bowl, then jumped up after my hand when I was pulling it out (slowly, so not to freak them out). He's also lunged at the glass if I put a finger up again the glass, as well as attacking the feeding tongs if I get them anywhere near him (which I was using at the time to keep him from going after my hand when I went to pull the water dish out.)

We do have another Midnight Blizz female that we got back in June, she was always kind of grumpy. She doesn't really like to be picked up or handled, but has never been a biter. She's one of those who acts tough with the slow tail wave, but has never attempted to strike.

I'm assuming they just need way more adjustment time, but yeesh. I don't want to be a chew toy until they settle down.

I just want my sweet geckos back!

Plus you are keeping male and female together which is not ideal either. Maybe he's protecting her? I have heard blizzards have fiesty temperaments as well. Many times the geckos at shows will seem really friendly but it's because they are cold. When I used to get animals for their temperament at the shows I had a few rude awakenings once they got warm and some food in their bellies! LOL They usually calm down after a few months :)

How long have you had them? Did you quarantine them for at least a month (each in a separate tank)? Did you refrain from handling during the 1 month adjustment period?

Even if I had quarantined them seperatly, the vendor I got them from had them together the entire time he owned them. Had one had something the other was sure to have it as well.

got spots?

Hmm... Kind of odd I guess. I had a girl who to her anything was food if she was hungrey or an hour after feeding. The attacking tongs I understand because they associate that with feeding time. The finger on glass I guess maybe a meal worm or territoral. I am sorry I am not sure.

I have a blizzard pair they live together too and they are a little more snippy than my others however they havent bitten or tried to ever, they do sqawk at me if i wake them up to handle and the male chirps if im holding him , he likes hanging on my shoulder. So it could be a blizzard thing but sice you just got them sounds like it could just be relocation stress also , hopefully they settle down fast.
