My son's Leo has been very sick and did not eat for a few days, we took him about a mont ago 8/15/2012 to a Reptile vet who said this lizard is not going to survive. We were told euthanasia is a viable option. After one month of force feeding mostly Wax worms to get back her weight she is beginning to show life. Here is a cool clip of her playing with a wax worm and then losing sight of it. She gets scared when it touches her toes and jumps back a few times. ENJOY.

Please Keep In Mind - we had her for 7 months and she lost a ton of weight from being sick. We got a pain killer and antibiotics from the vet and force fed her for a month. She had significantly less weight two / three weeks ago.

PS about 30 minutes after this vide she actually ate the waxie. Hope this means she is on the road to recovery.

PPS Sorry the tank has not been cleaned in a week but will be done soon.

:D

That leo should not be on sand. Take the sand out and put it on paper towels.
This. Looks like calcium sand. And how are temps being monitored? How are they being maintained? Also, she needs more small, rocky hides. She probably feels pretty vulnerable in the setup as it is now.

EDIT: My mistake about the calcium sand.

EDIT #2: It's good she's doing better though, but don't get your hopes up too high. Sometimes they can take turns for the worse unexpectedly.

aww poor thing, well done for taking her to a vet and i hope she recovers. :)

be careful with the pain killers as they can cause kidney and liver damage when used for prolonged periods of time.
good luck :)
