I breed my female for the first time on April 24th and than again on May 4th... Last night I went to do her daily check to make sure she was cool and I found an egg. I thought she had 2 eggs in her belly but she only laid one... Is this normal... Could it be possible that she has one more in her belly still and isn't ready to lay yet... I don't know what to do... Please help

It's not uncommon for first time breeders to only lay one egg for their first clutch. My female only laid one for her first clutch, and there definitely wasn't another one in there. She's getting close to laying her second clutch now. I'm pretty sure I see two in her this time, although one seems to be bigger than the other.

Don't worry, I don't think it's a problem. You can hold a bright LED flashlight to her back and look at her belly for another egg if you want to be sure she doesn't have another one. They're really easy to see as dark ovals with this method.

I posted a similar thread when this happened to me, and someone said that if the gecko starts eating again a few days after laying the single egg, than she definitely doesn't have another one. There are exceptions to this, though. My female didn't eat between her first and second clutch at all.

Alright I'll try your method... She did eat within a hour after she laid the egg and she slept in her lay box with it all night thank you for the reply .. Any other advice would be greatly appreciated...

Did you take the egg and put it into "incubation"?? :O Leaving it in with live geckos means that 1) temps aren't the most "stable"; and 2) live geckos can accidentally/intentionally move the eggs (which is bad, because a rolled-over egg drowns the fetus inside).

I left it for a little but than I removed it and put it to incubate @ 86 degrees .. At first it had candles yellow... Yesterday I candled it again and there's pink at the bottom Of the egg...

If the egg is alive and fertile it will get more pink and then darker as it grows. No way to tell for sure other than waiting and watching :) Good luck!

Hello everyone I figure I would give you guys all that helped me an update on the egg and how great full I am for all of your kindness and help. the egg hatched in 45 days at 86 degrees he was born on the 27th of June.I was so worried as this is my first time trying to breed geckos.its a normal I think considering the breeding was a tang male to a blizzard female we'll here is the little baby gecko. Sorry for the crappy pics I'll try to get better ones with my camera later on. If anyone else thinks anything different on this please let me know regardless he's staying here as he's my first ever produced gecko.
