That's what mine looks like but she's still only ovulating. My male is not breeding. Anyway, mine looks just like that and no eggs have formed or been laid so I think she's not gravid.
How do I distinguish this from having actual eggs being formed? I have been looking through several photos of gravid leos and they look the same to me when compared to this. Maybe some subtle details are escaping me, if you could explain it for me I would appreciate it.
The pink areas are ovulations; they start as one pink dot on the center of the belly; that separates into two pink dots as each migrates to the left and right side of the animals 'belly'.(takes about a week) As the egg begins to form and grow the pink is gradually replaced with the chalk white of the eggs;(another week or two transition) such that a week or so before she lays there will be no pink areas remaining, just two plump white convex outlines of the eggs...
