Green Beans

I got my first mealies yesterday to get them all nice and fat for my upcoming first leo and decided to give them some green beans to chow on. They're high in calcium and vitamin A. I think it'll make a nice moist source. I know that the mealies seemed to love them. Anyone else ever feed green beans to their feeders?

I think any type of produce except citrus or cruciferous vegetables (cabbage, spinach, broccoli, cauliflower, brussel sprouts) would be great for feeder food.

Good to know. By the way, these are fresh beans not the canned mushy type. Out of curiosity... what is the issue with citrus?

I have also read some people use some crushed up dog food to raise the protien content. Is this ok to do? We feed our dog a high end, high protien, low grain content food. I was considering putting some in with the mealies but figured i'd get an opinion first!
